Liquid

Backoffice UX the user shapes

A liquid interface where each operator composes their own backoffice layout instead of adapting to a fixed one.

What it is

Liquid is a design concept for backoffice interfaces. Instead of every user inheriting the same rigid screen, the interface adapts to the person using it: the same underlying data can be arranged, filtered and emphasised differently for a warehouse operator, a sales lead or a finance manager.

The idea

  • User-defined layout — operators drag, group and pin the modules that matter to their daily work.
  • Role-aware defaults — sensible starting layouts per role, which each user can then reshape.
  • Shared views — layouts can be published as team templates without locking anyone into them.
  • Progressive disclosure — complexity appears only when it is needed.

Why it matters

Most backoffice tools force the organisation to agree on one interface and live with it. Liquid inverts that: the system is flexible by default, and each user decides how their work looks.

This entry is a concept demo — no model is involved.
